STD Treatment Options
A positive result isn’t the end of anything. For some STDs it’s a prescription sent to your pharmacy after a phone consultation; for others it’s an injection or specialist care that the physician arranges. Here is what happens next, infection by infection.
Quick answer: If your STD test is positive, a member of our care team calls you, explains the result in plain language, and arranges a physician consultation by phone. For chlamydia and trichomoniasis the physician can send a prescription to the pharmacy you choose. Gonorrhea and syphilis are treated with an injection, so the physician arranges an in-person visit for it. For herpes, HIV and hepatitis they explain treatment and connect you with the right ongoing care. The consultation and any medication are separate from the test price.

Get tested in three easy steps
Tell us what you’re worried about, or pick the tests yourself. A doctor’s order is included – you don’t need a referral or an appointment.
Your lab order reaches the test center in 2–3 minutes, so you can walk in today – no appointment. Go to the lab you chose during the hours listed. Sign in at the kiosk with your name and date of birth – no ID needed – give a small blood or urine sample, and you’re done in about 5 minutes. No exam, no questions, no waiting room full of people.
Results post to your private account in 1–2 business days. Prefer not to log in or get an email? Call and we’ll read your result to you. If anything needs attention, our care team calls you to walk through treatment – for many infections that’s a prescription; for others the physician arranges an in-person visit or a referral.
Not sure what to test for? Talk to someone first.
Most people call before they order. Tell a care advisor what happened and when – no judgment, no awkwardness – and they will tell you exactly what makes sense, place the order with you, and pick the lab closest to you. The line is open 24 hours a day.

Nobody finds out but you.
Nothing goes to your insurance. Nothing comes in the mail. Your visit doesn’t announce why you’re there. Our partner labs collect samples for many different kinds of testing. To other people in the waiting room, you’re simply another person having a routine lab visit. Your results go only to you, in your secure account, and your card statement just says RSC Health.

Questions people ask
Does treatment cost extra?
Yes – the test price covers the test. The physician consultation is a separate fee, which the care team explains when they call, and any medication is filled at your pharmacy at its normal price. An injection or specialist visit is billed by the clinic that provides it.
Do I have to come in to see a doctor?
Not for chlamydia or trichomoniasis: the consultation is by phone and the prescription goes electronically to the pharmacy you choose. Gonorrhea and syphilis are treated with an injection, so the physician arranges an in-person visit for that. Herpes, HIV and hepatitis involve a referral to ongoing care.
Should my partner be treated?
For chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich, yes – otherwise you can pass it back to each other. The physician will talk it through with you.
Will anyone find out I was tested?
No. We never bill insurance, nothing is mailed, your lab visit doesn’t announce why you’re there (our partner labs collect samples for many kinds of testing, so you’re simply another routine visit), and your card statement just says RSC Health. Results go only to your private online account.
