False! ANYONE can get an STD.
It doesn't matter if you've had sex with only one partner or 100 partners.

All it takes is one time.

A virgin who just had sex for the first time on their wedding day can get an STD.

Like we said, all it takes is one time to get an STD.

Plus, STDs are really common.

According to the CDC, there are more than 110 million Americans with STDs. 

Obviously, STDs are not pleasant.

But the important thing is to get tested, get treated if you need it, and practice safe sex moving forward. 

While condoms are the most effective way to prevent STDs, they're not always 100% effective.

Sometimes, they break.  

Sometimes, people do not wear them properly. 

On top of that, certain STDs, like herpes and syphilis, can be passed through skin-to-skin contact. 

You can get an STD from any type of sex. 

While it's almost impossible to get HIV from oral sex, you can get other STDs quite easily through oral sex. 

Many STDs don't cause any symptoms. 

That's why it's important to get tested regardless of whether you see or feel anything different when you've potentially exposed yourself to an STD. 

This is VERY rare. 

And because delaying treatment can worsen the infection and cause permanent damage to your body, it's important to get treatment ASAP. 

While there is no cure for herpes, it is manageable. 

With medication, you can experience less outbreaks and have them clear up more quickly.

Medication also drastically reduces your chances of transmitting the virus. 

Herpes is also much more common than you think.

According to the World Health Organization, over 3.7 billion people worldwide under the age of 50 have herpes.

False. HIV can be passed through vaginal or anal sex. 

Your gender or sexual orientation does not matter.

This is 100% incorrect. 

Nowadays, HIV is no longer a death sentence.

You can live a long and healthy life if you're positive as long as you take your medication.

Being on medication also makes it nearly impossible for you to spread the virus to others, which is another reason why it's important to get tested regularly.
